Rosacea

Medical cannabis for rosacea offers a natural way to maintain healthy skin by helping to decrease inflammation and pain associated with the condition.

Rosacea is a long-lasting skin condition causing skin redness, or the appearance of blushing. When washing, rosacea can cause a burning or stinging sensation on skin, so using the right products is important. The cause is unknown, but triggers might include things like spicy food, alcohol, hot drinks, sun exposure, exercise, being in hot or cold temperatures, and stress.

Symptoms

Rosacea causes recurring redness or blushing on the face, neck and/or chest, lasting several minutes. Other symptoms include warm or painful skin, dry skin, swelling, and sore eyelids (known as blepharitis).

Treatments

Rosacea can’t be cured, but treatments can help to manage symptoms. Your doctor may recommend prescription skin creams or short-term antibiotics. Day-to-day changes can also help, like wearing a high factor sunscreen, avoiding heat, sun or humidity, switching to gentle skincare products, and managing stress. Research has explored the potentially positive effects of cannabis on skin conditions, including rosacea.

Rosacea can be a challenging condition to manage.

Medical cannabis—particularly through its anti-inflammatory and skin-calming effects—may offer support in reducing redness, irritation, and sensitivity. It’s a promising area where gentle, thoughtful use can make a difference.
