How Your Care Works
How Your Care Works
At Emerald Health, we provide specialist, clinician-led care through a simple, structured process designed to be safe, transparent, and easy to navigate.
1. Getting Started
You can book an appointment online, often within a few days.
Before your consultation, we’ll ask you to:
- Provide proof of identity
- Complete a short health questionnaire
- Give us access to your medical records
This information must be submitted at least 24 hours before your appointment to allow our clinicians to prepare safely.
2. Your Consultation
You will be seen by a specialist clinician via video or telephone.
During your consultation, we will:
- Review your medical history
- Understand your symptoms and treatment goals
- Assess whether treatment is appropriate for you
Not all patients are suitable for treatment. If this is the case, we will let you know as early as possible.
3. Treatment Planning
If appropriate, your clinician will develop a personalised treatment plan.
Your ongoing care may be delivered by our wider clinical team, which can include other qualified prescribers, where this is clinically appropriate and safe to do so.
Your care remains under the supervision of Emerald Health throughout.
4. Prescribing
Where clinically appropriate, a prescription may be issued.
- Prescriptions are written on FP10 paper forms
- These are printed, signed, and sent securely to a pharmacy
Please note:
- A prescription is not guaranteed
- All prescribing decisions are based on clinical judgement and safety
5. Pharmacy & Medication Supply
Emerald Health is a medical clinic and does not dispense or sell medication directly.
If you are prescribed medication:
- It will be dispensed by a licensed UK pharmacy
- You are free to choose your pharmacy
- We may help coordinate this process with trusted pharmacy partners to support a smooth and timely service
All medication supply, including dispensing and delivery, is the responsibility of the pharmacy.
6. Payment & Delivery
- Consultation fees are paid directly to Emerald Health
- Medication costs may be facilitated by us on behalf of the pharmacy
Once your prescription is received:
- The pharmacy will dispense your medication
- Delivery is arranged directly by the pharmacy
Delivery times may vary depending on processing times, stock availability, and weekends or bank holidays.
7. Ongoing Care & Reviews
Your care continues beyond your first consultation.
We will:
- Monitor your progress
- Adjust your treatment where needed
- Arrange follow-up appointments
Regular reviews are required to ensure your treatment remains safe and appropriate.
8. Working Alongside Your GP
With your consent, we will write to your GP following consultations where appropriate to support safe and coordinated care.
Emerald Health provides specialist treatment only.
Your GP remains responsible for your general healthcare.
We do not operate formal shared care prescribing arrangements with NHS GPs.
